Hosting A Workshop
JoAnn travels across the country to teach her original black ash splint basket designs for private groups, guilds, conventions and schools. She typically schedules her workshops 12 months in advance, but may have an opening in her teaching schedule. In order to give individual attention to each student, JoAnn usually limits her class size to 12 students. All tools, molds, splint materials and written instructions are provided for each class.
JoAnn's workshops range from 1 1/2 hours to one week long; her average class length is one day. Please consult her online catalog for a selection of possible workshop baskets. JoAnn can also design a class to fit your needs, where you have time constraints, specific ability levels, or other restrictions. The catalog represents individual projects, but JoAnn commonly teaches weeklong workshops that are more process, rather than product oriented. One of JoAnn's most popular multi-day workshops is "From Tree to Basket", which covers the processing of the black ash log into weaving material and the construction of a basket.
Please contact JoAnn if you are interested in hosting a workshop in your own neighborhood.
